So
far in my book a lot has happened it is hard to understand or
follow because this is the 3rd book in the series. I am reading
"The Mark of Athena" which is the 3rd book in
the Heroes of Olympus series written by Rick Riordan. It’s about
Greek Mythology in the Modern day western civilization. In this new series
which is an advancement on the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series,
contains Greek and Roman demigods and Gods. At this point in my book it’s
hard to put the book down since the plot is just starting and
the suspense is starting to build. It’s an amazing book and I would
recommend it to anyone who hasn't already read it after they read the first
series of books so they understand what is happening and how all these events
come together. I would recommend this series of books to anyone who is into
Mythology and who enjoys action, adventure, suspense and even a little bit of
romance in a novel. The book starts off with very suspenseful scene with
the Greeks entering the Roman camp on a giant warship. Is it under
a peace treaty or are they here to right a wrong of long ago? This is an
amazing book and amazing series that is a fairly easy read. Once you start
reading you won't be able stop.

The Creative hour
7. In 250 words, create your ideal place.
My ideal place to live would be here in the Okanagan. It really is the ideal place to live with its long hot summers and not to cold winters but can be great for building an ice rink. My ideal house would be higher up in the hills of Penticton with a hug front yard and huge back yard. i would have the property fenced off so i wouldn't have to deal with wild animals such as bears. I would use all the space to make a giant ice rink that i can skate on and play hockey and teach my future kids to play as well when i wouldn't be playing hockey i would be playing with my dogs, One Golden Retriever and a Boardercolly chocolate lab cross. My life would be living my dream of announcing hockey for a living. My house would be 3 levels and very wide open, inside i would have a room for each of the people in the house specifically in my "Man cave" i would have assorted video game systems a projector TV, upstairs in the kitchen i would have the best and most advanced cooking equitment so i could cook the most exquisite meals for my family and friends. Back out side i would have a huge deck with a BBQ and a hot tub along with patio furniture and that is my ideal place to live

The top three reasons to...
The top three reasons to travel to Mexico on a hero holiday trip.
During spring break each year for the last seven years a group of students from Penticton and area have traveled down to Vicente Guerero, Mexico along the Baja California. Three reason to go on this trip are the following, one you get to travel by bus from here to mexico. Now the reason that is so awesome is the scenery is amazing and you get to know the people on the trip with you as there is no easier way to get to know someone than 35+ hours on a bus going there and another 35 hours 6 days later on the wat back. The second reason to go on this trip is the experience you get from building a house and experiencing of learnig a new culture. building the house with the family and getting to know the family is an amazing experiance you build life long frienships and to us its just a simple house 22 by 20 sq feet to them its life changing. The 3rd reason to go is becuase of this phrase that alll participants will learn and understand by the end and that is "you recive way more than you give". Now this is true in so many ways , for example the area we go to in mexico is the poorer part so its a real eye opener and great for anyone studying social justice. it shows you what we in our day to day lives take for granted, the diffeence between needs and wants. That is why you should go to mexico if those 3 reasons don't make you wanna go well then your just missing a few screws

If
i could go back to any point in history it would be August of 480 BC
to the Battle of Thermopylae in ancient Greece. The Battle took place
between the Spartans and the Persian army. The Persian army at the
time was largest force ever assembled at a rough number of 300,000
infantry, Calvary and ranged units, while the Greeks had only 300
Spartans, 700 Thespians, 400 Thebans, possibly up to 900 helots and
1,000 Phocians for a grand total around 3,000- 3,300 meaning the
Greeks were outnumbered 100 Persians to 1 Greek. now based on facts
in the movie and other historical facts When the Spartan king was
trying to gather an army to fight the coming Persians and he was
denied by the elders of the Spartan civilization, if Leonidas was
given the army he had requested, the following days would have been a
completely different story. Though there are few records remaining
about what happened at the Battle of Thermopylae if the Spartans and
other Greeks had shown up with a force strong enough to even the odds
to at least 50 to 1 the out come of the battle very well could have
ended very differently. How the history books are written it says
that the Greek force of 3000 after 3 days of fighting had killed
20,000 - 30,000 Persian soldiers, so each Greek warrior killed
between 7 and 10 Persians. Since the Greeks lost the Persians went
forward and destroyed everything in there path burning Sparta in the
process. What i would change about that is i would have convinced the
Spartan council to send more men as many as they could muster up to
send at least 5000 Spartans plus all the others that joined the
Greeks would have had a force of around 8000 to fend off the
Persians, now The Persians were running low on food and were counting
on passing right through unnoticed to land were they could gather
more food. But with the Greeks showing up and slowing them down they
were in jeopardy of running out of food. If the original battle had
lasted any longer they would have had to retreat to get more food but
the Persians were able to push through the Greek force and move on to
later destroy everything in there path. But with the new force that
would be sent if I changed how things happened they defiantly would
have had to turn back and Greece would have been saved. The Battle of
Thermopylae was known for the unbelievable odds of a small Greek
force holding off the largest army ever assembled for 3 days. If i
were to change it, would it still be one of the most famous battles
of ancient Europe? Yes and for some of the same reasons. It would
have been remember as the battle were an army that was enormously
outnumbered held off the Persian army by strategically placing
themselves were they had to all be killed for the Persians to pass
were they lost more men than they killed and had to retreat due to
low food supplies and being unable to make any ground on a Greek
force that should have never stood a chance.
